What is the True Essence of Christmas?

Image result for essence of christmas    We give and receive gifts on Christmas but do we really know the true essence of Christmas? We all know that Christmas is the season of joy, peace, love and forgiveness. What does Christmas means to you? Is it really just exchanging of gifts? or is it the wide smile you receive with a joyful greeting? Christmas is the time where family gets together and bond with each other.

The essence of Christmas is not gifts, is certainly not goodies. Not even the things that you do. Not the decoration that makes your house look good. The essence of Christmas lies in the name of almighty Lord above. For he has the power to change the World. The true essence of Christmas is spreading love not only on loved ones but also on every single person around you. Christmas for me is being with my family, eating together, bonding with each other and filling the house with joy and love. The essence of Christmas is not measured on how tall the Christmas tree is, on how bright the lanterns are, and on how many food were prepared. Thus, the essence of Christmas is found on wide smiles of family members. On how they celebrate even just in a simple way. The true essence of Christmas is having a complete family, a complete family that celebrates a memorable day with a lot of love and joy.
\
May this Christmas bring you and your family joy, peace and happiness in your life and gladen your heart. may you realize the deepest value and essence of this festival. stay blessed and be a blessing for others. Merry Christmas to all.

Science Month Celebration

Every year, Science month celebration is conducted on Ilocos Sur National High School every September. Every year, a different theme is formulated, and this year's theme for the Science Month Celebration is "Wavefront: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements."

Electromagnetism defined as “magnetism produced by an electric current”. In other words it is the electricity part of what holds ourselves and every bit of matter in the universe together. This source of universal “glue” is found within atoms themselves. As the name sounds, there are two different forces within electromagnetism - the electric force and the magnetic force. Before the early part of the last century, scientist studied electricity and magnetism as different sciences. No one knew the connection between them. Electromagnetism was found almost by accident, that a” flow of electric current (a movement of electrical charge) creates a magnetic force” to use the words of Jack R. White, author of The hidden World of Forces.

For me, the discovery is very important because nowadays, Science is being developed. With these knowledge, different data are inserted in minds of many, making them "Science Minded". Especially for the students, we can make sure that they will grow with great minds and have knowledge about what is happening.

My Second Quarter with ICT 10

From the firat quarter, we learned alot from Mrs. Vera Cruz. Now, Second quarter i quite harder  than First Quarter. But I learned a lot about Hypertext Markup Language or HTML and other lessons.

At first, I am not familiar with these lessons but as the quarter goes on, I am learning a lot. With the activities conducted. I can say that I am developing skills in using HTML tags. I was challenged on making HTML files through different exercises. I and my classmates are surely benefited with these editing skills. And we also published blogs about themes of celebrations conducted in our school.

ICT 10 is not yet finished, more challenges will come for sure. But with these challenges, our knowledge will be assured. And with these lessons, our skills will be developed and more knowledge will enter our minds.

A wide Smile: A new Hope

Related image   Resilience is the ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change. Philippines is known to be a Calamity prone country because of it's location, the Pacific ring of Fire, and the Philippines is located west of the Pacific Ocean where typhoons are often formed. We all know that Filipinos are resilient when it comes to these situations. But after the disaster, is it easy for the people to recover from the damages caused by disaster?

In the year 2003, the Philippines experienced Typhoon Yolanda that caused more than 6000 deaths and left 35.5 Billion Pesos of damage. It isn't easy to recover from calamities like what happened on the victims of Yolanda because right after the calamity, financial support is needed to bring back the damaged goods. Filipinos are said to be resilient, each and everyone is encouraged to help and contribute for the recovery of the placed affected by the calamity. Smile is all what Filipinos have every time a disaster hit the country. Filipinos smile no matter what happens because people know that these smiles will bring new hope after a dark cloud. " bayanihan" can be seen in times of disasters, Fire, you can see people carrying pails and water just to stop the flame, Flood, people can be seen on roads wearing smiles while carrying their things going to the evacuation center. Filipinos are known for being resilient before, during and right after a calamity.Image result for resiliency of filipinos

Filipinos are very proud of being resilient. Smile can be seen before, during and right afte a calamity because Filipinos know that these smile brings a new hope as they recover from the calamity. Filipinos believe that nothing can pull down their country, Philippines because of their smile even the toughest problems and the strongest winds.

SONA 2018: A Reaction Paper

Image result for duterte sona      Every year, the President of the Philippines is conducting State of the Nation Address. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conducted his third State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa on July 23, 2018. He focuses on the problems the Philippines is facing right now, most especially the war of Drugs. as Filipinos, it is expected for the country to have changes and development. How can the President solve the problems mentioned on the State of The Nation Address? How can SONA help in the manipulation of peace and order of the country?

War on Drugs, Corruption, Marawi siege, these are some of the problems mentioned by Pres. Duterte during his third SONA. " The war against illegal drugs is far from over... This is why the illegal drugs war will not be sidelined. Instead, it will be as relentless and chilling, if you will, as on the day it began." a statement of Pres. Duterte as he discuss the unrelenting drug war. He had promised to end the use of drug within 6 months, but is there any improvement? Duterte's tough stance on corruption has cost many government officials their jobs but at least 16 officials who have been accused of corruption or abuse of public funds were reappointed, retained in another capacity, or promoted within the government. I am not against Duterte's plan on how he can control the country, on how he discipline his countrymen. Because as a Filipino citizen, if I were the President of the Philippines, it would be a great pleasure to have the job of disciplining my countrymen and controlling the whole country. " Your concern ishuman rights, mine is human lives" the statement of the president regarding of the people using drugs especially the youth of today.

Boracay closure is also one of the problems mentioned by President Duterte, well the problem is not with the island, it's more on the discipline of people going on the island. " I could not allow this decay to continue", told Mr. President while discussing the problem in Boracay. This statement marks up the practice of maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the country.

It is important for the government to make ways how to properly control the whole country and how to discipline themselves and their countrymen. It would be a great contribution on the country's development and improvement.

Letter to the President

Hon. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
Office of the President
MalacaƱang Palace
J.P Laurel St., San Miguel, Manila, Philippines

Dear Mr. President,

I know that being a President of the Republic of the Philippines is both an honor and responsibility. It is known to be the most challenging role in the country. We all know that many conflicts and problems are being faced by our country nowadays, and we all know that you have the power and courage to end these conflicts. I, as a concerned citizen of our country, what i am expecting on you since you've been the president of the Philippines is that you can or you will end the conflicts the Philippines is encountering right now. As you promised, you'll end the use of Drugs in our country, but why is that there are still news going viral everyday about Drugs. When will you end these issues about deaths? Shooting incidents, war on drugs, and even accidents, why are these happening in our country? What I am hoping on your last few years of term is that you'll promote some programs that are concerned with these problems. Vehicular accidents are timely in our province, Ilocos Sur because of reckless driving. I hope that you, as a president and has the power to end these conflicts, I expect that at the end of your term, Philippines will be a drug-free country, the Philippines will be more- ptoductive and the Philippines will be an accident-free country. With your words and cooperation of the Filipinos, the Philippines will surely be a progressive country of the future. May you continue your good work and I wish you luck on your remaining years of service for our country. Godbless Mr. President.

                                                                                                               Sincerely Yours,
                                                                                                              Jace Ivan Tolentino

Filipinos celebrate Independence Day annually on June 12 because it marks the nation's independence from the spanish rule. The Philippine Flag was raised and its national anthem was first played for the first time in 1898. But do we really own this Archipelago called Philippines? Do we need to celebrate Independence Day?

A giant flag of the Philippines was raised for the first time and together with the playing of the Philippines' national anthem entitled "Lupang Hinirang" in 1898. In 1962, President Diosdado Macapagal issued Proclamation No. 28 moving the Celebration of Independence day to June 12. We celebrate Independence Day annually to commemorate the people behind the freedom of the Philippines, celebrating the Independence of the Philippines from the colonization of Spain. We need to celebrate Independence Day to give or show deep gratitude or to recognize the people beyond the freedom of the Philippines. We must show our deep gratitude to those heroes who brought freedom to the Philippines.

Independence day simply explains on each of the Filipinos that a freedom for our country must be saved from the arms of whoever tried to colonized the Philippines. Commemorating heroes by celebrating Independence Day reminds the achievement and freedom brought to the Philippines.
